Isht Vatsa immigrated to the United States with his parents from India at eight years old . Raised in in a truly cosmopolitan environment in Miami, Florida, he grew up surrounded by immigrant communities. Naturalized in 2011, Isht is personally aware and sympathetic to the uncertainties that immigrants and their families face during their immigration process.
Isht completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program at Coral Reef Senior High School, where he studied and completed courses at the college level. After high school, Isht attended the University of Florida, where he received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History and Criminology. He minored in Business Administration. Isht later went on to receive a Juris Doctor degree from Boston College Law school. In law school, Isht advocated for the rights of the wrongfully convicted, volunteering with the New England Innocence Project (NEIP) and representing clients in civil matters through the Boston College Civil Litigation Clinic. He also interned at the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts, actively speaking, and arguing motions before the court.
Upon graduating from law school, Isht joined the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office as an Assistant State Attorney. In this capacity, he worked on a broad range of criminal matters, trying cases to verdict. Isht later s assumed an Associate role at a premier immigration law firm, where he acquired hands-on expertise with all forms of family-, employment-, and investment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant cases. Isht has devoted a significant amount of time to representing talented immigrant individuals craft and file self-petitioned employment-based EB-1A Extraordinary Ability and EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) cases.
